About G#sus4

The G#sus4 chord is made up of G# (root), C# (perfect fourth) and D# (perfect fifth). Its interval formula is 1 – 4 – 5. It is a suspended chord: it replaces the third with the perfect fourth, which creates a tension that usually resolves to the major chord.

G#sus4 has no standard open shape in the CAGED system, so its 23 voicings are sorted only by difficulty and position on the neck. Another way to write G#sus4 is Absus4 (the same piano key, with a different name). The usual choice is Absus4.
