About F#sus4

The notes of F#sus4 are F# (root), B (perfect fourth) and C# (perfect fifth). In scale degrees above the root, the formula is 1 – 4 – 5. With no third, the perfect fourth asks to resolve; it is very common right before the major or minor chord on the same root.

F#sus4 has no standard open shape in the CAGED system, so its 28 voicings are sorted only by difficulty and position on the neck. Another way to write F#sus4 is Gbsus4 (the same piano key, with a different name). F#sus4 is the usual choice.
