About F#7

The notes of F#7 are F# (root), A# (major third), C# (perfect fifth) and E (minor seventh). In scale degrees above the root, the formula is 1 – 3 – 5 – b7. It is a dominant seventh chord: a major chord plus a minor seventh, which gives it the characteristic tension of blues and jazz.
