About Ebsus2

Ebsus2 is built from three notes: Eb (root), F (second) and Bb (perfect fifth). In scale degrees above the root, the formula is 1 – 2 – 5. With no third it leaves the harmony undefined: it sounds open and modern, and it is used a lot in pop and rock.

Ebsus2 has no standard open shape in the CAGED system, so its 23 voicings are sorted only by difficulty and position on the neck. Another way to write Ebsus2 is D#sus2 (the same piano key, with a different name). Ebsus2 is the usual choice.
