About Db augmented
The Db augmented chord is made up of Db (root), F (major third) and A (augmented fifth). In scale degrees above the root, the formula is 1 – 3 – #5. It is an augmented chord: it stacks two major thirds and sounds ambiguous and suspended, as if it wants to resolve.
Db augmented has no standard open shape in the CAGED system, so its 33 voicings are sorted only by difficulty and position on the neck. Db augmented is also written as C# augmented: the same chord with the root spelled differently, and it sounds identical. The more common spelling is Db augmented.
