About C# augmented
C# augmented is built from three notes: C# (root), E# (major third) and G## (augmented fifth). Its interval formula is 1 – 3 – #5. Its augmented fifth gives it a restless, mysterious sound, and because it is symmetrical the same chord repeats every four semitones.
C# augmented has no standard open shape in the CAGED system, so its 33 voicings are sorted only by difficulty and position on the neck. C# augmented is also written as Db augmented: the same chord with the root spelled differently, and it sounds identical. The more common spelling is Db augmented.
