About Absus2
The notes of Absus2 are Ab (root), Bb (second) and Eb (perfect fifth). Its interval formula is 1 – 2 – 5. With no third it leaves the harmony undefined: it sounds open and modern, and it is used a lot in pop and rock.
Absus2 has no standard open shape in the CAGED system, so its 24 voicings are sorted only by difficulty and position on the neck. Absus2 is also written as G#sus2: the same chord with the root spelled differently, and it sounds identical. The more common spelling is Absus2.
