Fadd9 is built from four notes: F (root), A (major third), C (perfect fifth) and G (ninth). Its interval formula is 1 – 3 – 5 – 9. It is an added-ninth chord: the major chord plus the ninth (the second, an octave higher) with no seventh, and it sounds wide and bright.
