About Dsus4

Dsus4 is built from three notes: D (root), G (perfect fourth) and A (perfect fifth). In scale degrees above the root, the formula is 1 – 4 – 5. It is a suspended chord: it replaces the third with the perfect fourth, which creates a tension that usually resolves to the major chord.

Dsus4 has no standard open shape in the CAGED system, so its 71 voicings are sorted only by difficulty and position on the neck.
