About Db minor
The Db minor chord is made up of Db (root), Fb (minor third) and Ab (perfect fifth). Its interval formula is 1 – b3 – 5. The minor third makes it sound sad and introspective, and it is the usual counterpart of the major chord.
On guitar, Db minor has 2 common shapes: the A and E shapes. These are CAGED system shapes, the basis for playing the same chord anywhere on the neck. The viewer also shows 28 more voicings, from easiest to hardest. Db minor is also written as C# minor: the same chord with the root spelled differently, and it sounds identical. The more common spelling is C# minor.
