Bmaj7 is built from four notes: B (root), D# (major third), F# (perfect fifth) and A# (major seventh). Its interval formula is 1 – 3 – 5 – 7. It is a major seventh chord: it sounds smooth, elegant and a little dreamy, and it is widely used in jazz, bossa nova and pop.
