The Asus2 chord is made up of A (root), B (second) and E (perfect fifth). In scale degrees above the root, the formula is 1 – 2 – 5. With no third it leaves the harmony undefined: it sounds open and modern, and it is used a lot in pop and rock.
Asus2 has no standard open shape in the CAGED system, so its 63 voicings are sorted only by difficulty and position on the neck.
